10.01.23 Introduction to Kaïlūkuān
October 1, 2023
What an incredible start to Filipino American History Month! We're filled with gratitude for the hospitality and enlightening teachings from Kaïlūkuän School of Indigenous Science. Participants in the Introduction to Kaïlūkuän Workshop were deeply engaged in a treasure trove of knowledge during a captivating lecture by Virgil Mayor Apotol, in which he encouraged questions and discussions from the audience. He delved into the origins, philosophy, and history of the Kaïlūkuän healer, highlighting its profound connection with combat arts. Ka shared insights on the holistic approach of indigenous healing and science, providing a rich perspective.
We were honored to explore the 20 Langát’ Dumadangádang (Warrior Postures) of Didya Mudgara, a privilege that left us inspired, rejuvenated, and a bit sweaty!
A heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who joined us for this special event, where we celebrated our legacy, the diversity of Pilipino culture, and embraced the vibrant future ahead. Here's to the journey of learning, growing, and honoring our roots!
