05.31.24 Sound Bath Meditation Workshop

May 31, 2024

In celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month we recently embarked on a journey of relaxation and reflection at the Sound Bath Meditation Workshop hosted at KIN Unified Healing, (Walnut, CA). Led by founder and Sound Educator, Janelle Corpuz Hethcoat, attendees were immersed in a transformative experience.

This unique collaboration highlights the role of Sound Healing in a holistic approach to mental wellness, backed by KIN’s program, accredited for 40.5 contact hours by the American Holistic Nurse Association (AHNA).

Sound baths offer immersive experiences where deep, resonant vibrations from gongs, singing bowls, and chimes envelop participants. Rooted in ancient Tibetan and Nepalese traditions, these practices leverage sound to foster meditation and spiritual equilibrium.

The workshop introduced participants to the therapeutic uses of sound on physical, emotional, and energetic levels. Participants were taught the science behind acoustic resonance, rhythm, entrainment, and their effects on the brain and internal organs, along with the application of music theory in healing practices through crystal singing bowls, drumming, and vocal techniques.

For many attendees, it was their first time experiencing a sound bath, and were happily surprised by this unique session. Janelle's expertise and guidance provided a grounding presence, allowing participants to fully embrace the experience and its benefits.

As the workshop concluded, attendees expressed gratitude for the opportunity to explore this remarkable healing practice in the company of fellow alumni. The event served as a reminder of the importance of self-care and mindfulness in today's fast-paced world.

A sincere thank you to KIN Unified Healing and Janelle for their dedication to educating and guiding others on their wellness journey.
